About The Bed Store

We'll Even Tuck You In...

In August of 1992 Roger and Misty Cunningham opened the first Bed Store location in a small West Knoxville strip mall. Over 30 years, 7 stores and over 200,000 tucked in customers later we still do the same thing we started out doing. Helping one person at a time find the perfect mattress for them and tucking them in to a better night’s sleep.

With more than 45 years of bedding and furniture experience, Roger is the founder and chief executive officer of The Bed Store, the greater Knoxville area’s number one mattress shopping destination.

Misty, a proud native of East Tennessee, has enjoyed a high level of success in her career in marketing and real estate along with helping cultivate the vision of The Bed Store with Roger.

Roger and Misty are the parents of three daughters and grandparents of one granddaughter and eight grandsons. They are also the parents of their loyal and loving pups Roxie and Rosie. (a.k.a. the TuckPups, @tuckpuppies)

Roger and Misty shared a vision for The Bed Store that was inspired by Roger’s grandmother. Granny Pearl, who was in the hospitality business, ran a small motor court where each night she would go around to each room and check on her road-weary guests. She would bring them handmade soaps, warm cookies and milk and make sure that they were comfortable and taken care of for the evening. This had a profound effect on young Roger when he would spend time with her. This lead them to honor her process of "tucking" her guests in when creating the operating philosophy of The Bed Store…

“We’ll Even Tuck You In™” is our mantra and the word T.U.C.K. embodies The Bed Store’s approach to how it treats its customers.

The Bed Store wants to make sure that all its customers are comfortable and taken care of. That simple philosophy has helped propel The Bed Store to become the number one mattress shopping destination for 9 years in a row as voted on by East Tennesseans in the Knoxville News Sentinel Readers poll.
