What's stopping you from owning your own business?

There are many motivators in life. No doubt one of the biggest motivators in life is fear. Fear can cripple us and keep us from knowing what we are truly capable of. Now don't get me wrong, fear can be a good thing. It can keep us from climbing that extra rung on an already rickety ladder. Healthy fear, however is not what most people are motivated by. It's the crippling, limiting, fear that truly holds us back from great freedom and accomplishments. 
Maybe fear is keeping you from realizing your dream of owning your very own business. It could be a fear that, on the surface, seems reasonable. For example, "I'm not going to venture out and open a business because the economy is so poor right now."
Many companies that we know of as super successful opened their doors in a poor economy. FedEx, Microsoft, MTV, Sports Illustrated are just a few of the many successful companies that rolled the dice in an economy that was causing other entrepreneurs to shake in their boots. Just because you have fear doesn't mean you shouldn't take that leap. It just means that you should do your homework before jumping into the deep end of entrepreneurship.
