Sleep Sensors and Sensibility

Several mattress manufacturers utilize a "sensor" diagnostic as a tool to promote their mattresses. Each utilizes a different cirteria and labeling system to guide you to your "just right" mattress. Basically you are asked to lay back, relax, and trust the sensor to show you what category of mattress you should purchase. Kind of like the "Goldilock's" story of, "too hard, too soft, and just right." So for instance your body indicates that a firm bed, say category 1, puts too much pressure on you; and category 4 is too soft. You would be a candidate for either category 2 or 3. You would then be directed to that company's selection of category 2 and 3 mattresses to choose from. Now all you would need to do is to lay down and select your "just right" mattress based on how it feels to you. So you are asked to"trust" the well scripted "scientific" gimick for the first stage; and then switch to your own "God given" high tech "touch and feel" intellect to finish the process?
Not only is it NOT good science, it's non-sense! My recommendation is to go to a trusted mattress dealer and let them listen to what your body is already telling you and from that information guide you to a few products that best suite your needs. Then you simply choose between these choices and start sleeping better right away. Your body comes with the best designed sensor built. Trust it!
